Back in 1967, Mike Nichols' tale of an inter-generational affair was controversial stuff, and The Graduate was duly awarded an 18 certificate by the censors. The Graduate , soundtracked by a slew of Simon and Garfunkel classics, starred a 30-year-old Dustin Hoffman as Benjamin Braddock, fresh out of school and under pressure from family and friends to choose his future.
